Sedation Options
Implant treatment is usually performed under local anesthetic. Intravenous (IV) sedation is available at the clinic. We use an I.V sedation technique which is a combination of laughing gas (dinox) and Dormicum which is given intravenously by our anaesthetist. Sedation costs £90 per hour. Your dentist will discuss your options with you whilst you are at the clinic.
We do see many nervous patients and understand the anxiety visiting the dentist can cause. Our Patient Care Manager, Mr Tom Emmerson from Bristol, works at the clinic supporting our UK patients, when required, throughout their treatment. He will be on hand for you, if needed.
For the most nervous patients the clinic can prescribe Xanax. This is an anti-anxiety agent benzodiazepine used primarily for short-term relief of mild to moderate anxiety and nervous tension.
We also offer our patients pain free local anaesthetic using the Wand system.
The STA-Wand is a state-of-the-art local anaesthetic device that gives us the opportunity to improve our patient's dental experience.
The computer controlled system allows for an even-flow delivery of anaesthetic in a very comfortable, non-threatening manner. It eliminates the "bee sting" effect - the painful consequence from a surge of fluid into a confined tissue area.
A special anaesthetic gel can also be applied to the gum beforehand making the procedure even more comfortable. Many patients find this very helpful.
