Consultation for Implants
If you are considering Implant treatment, our Chief Surgeon and Implantologist Dr. Louis Patonay will need to do a thorough examination of the state of the bone in your jaw as part of this Consultation.
The health as well as the shape and dimensions (thickness and width) of the jawbone need to be assessed and vital structures – inferior alveolar nerve / sinus – need to be identified.
It is the results of this examination that will determine your suitability for Implants.
If there is not sufficient bone, or there are health problems, it may not be possible to place Implants without first having a Bone-Graft / Sinus Lift. This treatment can also be carried out at the Kreativ Clinic.

The Advanced Assessment Technology at Kreativ
In some circumstances information from a 2D digital ortho-pantographic x-ray is insufficient to evaluate a patient’s suitability for Implants.

Implant Surgery & Post-Surgery
Implant surgery is serious but it is not major surgery. A Consultation and Implant surgery require a 3 to 5 day stay depending on other treatments needed.
According to the results of consultation and examination of the jawbone, Implant treatment is arranged in the following steps:

- Insertion of the Implant
- Healing of the gum
- Exposure of the Implant/s
- Impression taking
- Fitting of Crown and Bridge or Over-Denture
If there are no complicated circumstances, Dr Patonay rarely takes more than 15 minutes to place an Implant with surgery usually carried out under local anaesthetic.
Following the procedure you will be provided with a post-surgical pack containing pain killing medication for your comfort and post-surgery instructions for oral hygiene to help you avoid any infections.
You are strongly advised not to fly home on the same day as your surgery and will be re-examined by Dr Patonay the following day.
Soreness from the operation rarely lasts much longer than 2-3 days with most swelling and discomfort gone when the stiches are removed 14 days later.
Removal of Stitches
You may travel back to the Clinic in Budapest if you wish however most patients’ arrange for the stitches to be removed by their local dentist back in the UK.
Fitting of Crown, Bridge or Over-Denture
After implantation, a healing period is necessary (normally 3 to 6 months). During this time the bone grows around and bonds to the roughened surface of the Implant screw (Osseo-integration) firmly fixing the Implant in the jawbone.
At the end of the healing period a return visit of between 5 and 10 days is required for the fitting of the permanent teeth (Crown, Bridge or Over-Denture). Many patients break the second stage into two visits, spread over two weeks.
